A whirlwind of new information and connections for Team Innowind

The InnoWind project team visited Espoo on 20–23 January to take part in the 8th Winter Satellite Workshop, hosted at Dipoli by Aalto University. The annual event has become one of the key meeting points for the Nordic and Baltic space community, bringing together universities, companies, expert organizations and students to exchange knowledge and explore emerging themes in the rapidly evolving space sector. This year’s workshop continued that tradition, offering a rich program of presentations, demonstrations and discussions spanning satellite technology, Earth observation, data-driven services and new opportunities in the commercial space ecosystem.

University of Vaasa participated actively throughout the event, showcasing its growing portfolio of space-related research and development. The university contributed both topic presentations and poster sessions, highlighting ongoing work in areas such as remote sensing, data analytics and space-enabled solutions for environmental monitoring. A dedicated booth served as a central meeting point where visitors could learn about the full range of space initiatives coordinated under the Kvarken Space Center umbrella.
